hipSwan socks generally come in three sizes: small, medium, and large. Where we offer only a single "one size fits most" it is the equivalent of medium.
hipSwan socks are suitable for men and women.
Sizes are based on the sock's foot length in centimetres, and are provided as a range due to socks having inherent elasticity.
For your convenience, the following chart maps our socks' length ranges onto approximate shoe sizes using US shoe size scales:
What if the socks I order don’t fit me?
No problem, you have 60 days to return them. Just pay the return postage and we’ll refund you, no questions asked. The socks must be in new, unworn condition with the original wrappers included. Full details of our return policy are here.

Shipping
We ship to US customers from our Winston-Salem, North Carolina distribution center.
Standard shipping
Our standard shipping service is USPS Ground Advantage™.
The expected delivery time, excluding the time needed for picking and packing your order, is 2 - 5 business days.
Delivery time depends on the destination within the US. Along the East Coast it is 2 business days, Midwest 3-4 business days and West Coast 5 business days.
We offer free standard shipping if your order value is $50 and above.
If your order value is below $50, we charge a shipping fee of $10.
Express shipping
We also offer an express shipping option with USPS Priority Mail which will take 2 - 3 business days to reach any continental US destination, excluding the order processing time.
The express option costs $35 (or $25 if your order value is above $50).
Returns
hipSwan places a high priority on delivering outstanding customer service, and this extends to those rare instances when customers need to return their socks (historically, less than 3% of customers have returned their socks, the vast majority due to sizing issues).
We are committed to your satisfaction and offer a liberal returns policy:
- We offer a 60-day return window
- For your convenience, we have a US-based returns facility
- Returned items must be in a new and unused condition together with all tags and original packaging intact. If your items have been used and cannot be restocked as new, please do not send them back to us. Doing so will lead to further expense and wastage, as they must be disposed.
- Refunds can only be made to the payment method used for the original order.
- Return postage costs are the responsibility of the customer.
- Our logistics partner normally requires 2 - 3 business days to confirm receipt and inspect the items included in your return package.
- We aim to initiate your refund within 48 hours after receiving confirmation that your returned items are in a new and unused condition with all tags and original packaging intact. Please note that we don't have control over when your credit card or other payment provider will reflect the refund/credit on your account.
If you wish to initiate a return, please contact our customer service at cs@hipswan.com (referencing your order number) and we'll send you detailed instructions including the address to which you should send your items.
Exchanges
We do not offer direct exchanges. If you prefer another color or style, you would have to return the original pair(s) and place a new order.

Very soft and comfortable. I did find them a bit too thick for running socks, however, that is just my personal preference.
I would like to see these socks in a longer style, and a smaller fit ( I'm a size 3), to go in my walking boots, please!
They lack stickiness on both the toe and heel area leading me to slip of the bar and injure myself.

I bought a variety of socks, colours and styles. They were all of good quality and look good. Wash well too. Very pleased with them, so placed a second order!
Used for golf - due to some challenging golf courses that are hilly or steep slopes good socks are essential - required to prevent heel problems and socks that do not slip into shoes- these socks are described and wash well if you use makers instructions - why 4 star? One sock did slip into shoe but couldn’t work out why - no problems since

Very comfortable stay put on my feet. Have not washed yet but I am pleased with them.

Thought these could be itchy but instead, they are very supportive, comfortable to wear and the tabs keep the socks from slipping.
These ankle socks are thicker than other merino wool socks I've tried, and also have a higher merino wool content. They have extra cushioning along the sole and heel.
Very warm and cosy socks! Ideal for wearing when it’s cold. Wash up well. I have several pairs!!

My 2nd order of these fantastic merino wool socks. I find them warm and comfortable especially when I'll be walking for extended periods such as when golfing or just out for the day in town. Please make a crew-length version for the colder months!
As comfortable as any Golf socks Ive had before. Could do with a little more padding. Not sure how they react to multi washing over time but so far so good. Lets see how they fair after three months. They are also the most expensive socks Ive bought for golf. Finally I would like them in white.
I’ve worn hip swan socks before & loved them but I wanted to try a different style so they’d be less noticeable while wearing trainers . I’ve never found socks that don’t slip off my feet until hip swan socks . I love the new style I ordered just as much as my other socks from hs . I’m sure I’d love all the different styles now too

Orders ship from our US warehouse in Winston-Salem, North Carolina within 24 hours of purchase (often same-day) excluding weekends and holidays. We offer 2 shipping services:
- Standard Shipping: 2–5 business days via USPS Ground Advantage™. Free shipping for orders over $50. ($10 for orders under $50)
- Express Shipping: USPS Priority delivery in 2–3 business days for $35 ($25 for orders over $50.

Will I pay US import duties on top of the prices shown here?
No — import duties are already included in the prices you see on our site, so there's nothing extra to pay on that front. Standard US sales tax still applies based on your state and will be calculated and shown at checkout, just like with any US retailer.
What if my socks don't fit? Can I return or exchange them?
Yes! We offer 60-day returns via our U.S.-based returns facility. Socks must be unworn and in original packaging.
We don’t offer direct exchanges. For a different color or size, please place a new order and return the original. Contact cs@hipswan.com to start a return.

Why are some styles out of stock? When will they be back?
We produce in limited batches to minimize waste and overproduction. Popular sizes and colors can sell out fast. If something’s unavailable, sign up for our restock alert on the product page and we’ll email you the moment it’s back! Restocks typically follow a rolling 3-month cycle, including design, production, and shipping.
How should I care for my hipSwan socks?
Treat your socks like delicates:
- Wash cold (machine or hand), inside out
- Line dry (especially styles with silicone grips)
